The Anglesea Estuary has experienced a fish kill. Fish species that were found dead included the Small-Mouthed Hardyhead, Tupong (?), Yellow-eyed Mullet, Australian Salmon, Flounder and Black Bream. The estuary appeared to be bright blue in colour with a white cloudy substance accumulating in depressions on the estuary floor. At the time the Estuary was open and flowing out to sea. Prior to today there had been heavy rain. As a result the estuary was at a high level (1.74m). |
